\"\"<\/a>Famous Polish writer Bruno Schulz (1892-1942), who lived all his life in Drohobych and died there in the hands of Nazis during the Shoah, was an outstanding epistolary master. His letters\u00a0\u2013\u00a0examples of high prose of magical realism – often became basis for his future stories.\u00a0Book of Letters<\/strong><\/em> consists of all intact letters to friends, colleagues, and partners, which allows to understand his personal and artistic endeavors, and his creative pursuits. This correspondence was collected by outstanding Polish poet, essayist, and cultural worker Jerzy Fitsovski (1924-2006) for more than 60 years.<\/p>\n

The compiler also included into the book detailed comments about circumstances of the found texts, their attributes, events and individuals cited. This book is a kind of a monument to the universe of Galician Jews, destroyed by the Nazis and Stalinists. It also commemorates those who managed to survive the Shoah but then witnessed the Soviet regime\u00a0attempts\u00a0to destroy any traces of their cultural, religious, and human presence in the region.<\/p>\n
