Перший том вибраних праць українського соціолога Ольґерда Іполита Бочковського (1885–1939) містить три його ранні праці: «Фінляндія і фінляндське питання» (1916), «Поневолені народи царської імперії, їх національне відродження та автономічні прямування (до національної справи в Росії)» (1916) та «Національна справа (Статті про національне питання в зв’язку з сучасною війною)» (1918, 1920). У цих роботах науковець виклав свою концепцію національного відродження поневолених народів, їхнього перетворення у модерні нації та змагання за здобуття або відродження власної державності. До тому включені також три статті Бочковського 1933 р. з критикою позиції західноєвропейських політичних діячів щодо Голодомору та терору в підрадянській Україні.
