Видавнича діяльність становить значну частину роботи Центру юдаїки. Щороку ми готуємо до друку близько 10–12 видань. І за роки нашої роботи ми опублікували низку книг з історії, культури та філософії євреїв України та Європи. Частина з цих праць вже стала бібліографічною рідкістю.

Центр юдаїки разом із видавництвом «Дух і Літера» опублікували понад 80 книг, серед яких «Єврейська цивілізація: оксфордський підручник з юдаїки» (2012); путівник «Єврейські адреси Києва» (2012); «Діалоги порозуміння: українсько-єврейські взаємини» (2011); «Культур-Ліґа: художній аванґард 1910-1920-х років» (2007); «Поза межами розуміння: філософи та богослови про Голокост» (2009) та інші.

Наші книги одержали низку відзнак на національних та міжнародних книжкових фестивалях. Так, видання «Книжкова графіка митців Культур-Ліґи» та «Єврейська цивілізація: оксфордський підручник з юдаїки» отримали вищі нагороди Форуму видавців у Львові та «Книжкового Арсеналу» 2012 року.

Janusz Korczak. The Child of Man: Selected Works

The Child of Man is a collection of works by the famous Polish writer, doctor, and teacher, Janusz Korczak (1878-1942), published in Ukrainian for the first time. Texts of various genres (treatise, drama, diary etc.), compiled by S. Petrovska, demonstrate his child-centric philosophy developed over the harsh twentieth century. The life and works of Janusz Korczak are outstanding treasures of the international humanistic tradition. This book is aimed at non-specialist audience.

Janusz Korczak. The Right to Be Respected

The collection of essays The Right to Be Respected includes selected works of the famous Polish writer, humanist, doctor, and educator Janusz Korczak (1878-1942). Different in genre and style, written in different years, the common thread that runs through these works is a love of children and a good understanding of child psychology. Korczak exhorts adults to see in every child, first and foremost, the Human worthy of respect. This book is aimed at non-specialist audience. (more…)

Joanna Olczak-Roniker. Janusz Korczak. Pages of biography

The storyline based on the autobiography taken from Janusz Korczak’s diary shows life story of Doctor interlaced with Polish Jews destinies and choices narration.
Young Korczak appears as a young man seeking his own way, young doctor tending to public activity, a teacher proclaiming groundbreaking theories, a writer, a long time head of an Orphanage for Jewish children, an employee at the “Our home” – boarding school for Polish children. Korczak did not support any political party or any ideology. Throughout all his life he was firmly convinced that it is possible to be both a Jew and a Pole. Shortly before his death Janusz Korczak wrote: “I do not want to harm anyone. I am  not able. I do not know how to do it”.

Bruno Schulz. Literary and Critical essays

This collection of literary-critical, literary-theoretical, and philosophical texts by Bruno Schulz reveals a new facet of this creative artist, and allows to look upon him as a talented literary critic, attentive to contemporary literary discourse. Bruno Schulz appears as a philosopher and literary theorist who created the original concept of literary work, offered a toolbox of analytical reading and reception of literary texts. The book is aimed to literary critics and philosophers, as well as to wide range of humanitarian and all interested in culture of the interwar period.

Bruno Schulz. Book of Letters

Famous Polish writer Bruno Schulz (1892-1942), who lived all his life in Drohobych and died there in the hands of Nazis during the Shoah, was an outstanding epistolary master. His letters – examples of high prose of magical realism – often became basis for his future stories. Book of Letters consists of all intact letters to friends, colleagues, and partners, which allows to understand his personal and artistic endeavors, and his creative pursuits. This correspondence was collected by outstanding Polish poet, essayist, and cultural worker Jerzy Fitsovski (1924-2006) for more than 60 years.
